1.Set the kayak far enough out in the water so that the kayak floats, and the rudder and hull are free of the bottom. With your right hand, grasp the cockpit rim and the paddle at the same time.
2. Then grab the opposite end of the paddle with your left hand.
3. Place your right foot in the middle of the kayak.
4. Most of your weight should still be on your left foot. Sit down.
5. Push off with your left foot and start to paddle.
6. When the kayak is underway and you feel you have good balance, pull your left leg into the kayak.
